Nigerians who support Manchester United are “feeling fly” after the English Premier league club sent Independence Day greetings to Nigeria.

“This is why I frigging love this club,” Nigerian citizen Funke Philips wrote on Facebook after sharing the picture.

“I rep Manchester United; my blood is red,” Petra Okorie Awele seconded her.

Manchester United and Nigeria have at least two things in common.

The club is British. Britain colonised Nigeria until 1960 when the African giant attained independence.
