Nigeria: How Air Force officer “killed girlfriend for sleeping with bloody civilian”
Many would say Nigerian military officers are known to look down on civilians. It’s one of the many things the country is believed to have inherited from years of military rule.
That feeling of superiority may have conspired with a broken heart to rob Oladipupo Solape of her precious life.
According to reports, Kalu, Solape’s boyfriend, returned to his quarters at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base in Makurdi, Benue State, to meet his darling lover in bed with another man – a “bloody” civilian.
In the build up to the tragedy that followed, Kalu provided “live” Facebook updates.
In a Saturday morning post, Kalu looked forward to his next military assignment. He even tagged Solape “Shomzy Shomzy” in the post.
Kalu’s next post suggested something was wrong. He didn’t tag anyone. It came some 14 hours after the one above.
Then came the one in which he wished he was dead.
He then dropped a time (on Sunday). Could be the time he shot Solape, or the time he shot himself.
Reports, NAF statement offer details of what may have happened
Kalu, according to reports, shot the “cheating” woman first but his gun failed to fire when he pointed it at the civilian girlfriend snatcher who escaped afterwards, and alerted the base.
Kalu then penned a suicide note before turning the pistol on himself. He fired a round but failed to die. He was later arrested.
“An Air Force man, Kalu B.A, was at 6.06am this morning (Sunday) arrested and detained at the Air Force provost squadron,” a NAF spokesperson, Wing Commander Emmanuel Iheoma, said.
Oladipupo Solape: Nigerian airwoman killed 13 days after openly praying for long life
“When the incident happened, the Air Force Woman was rushed to the NAF Base hospital and later referred to Benue State University Teaching hospital in Makurdi where she died.
“Further investigations are ongoing to ascertain what really happened and the media will be informed,” Iheoma said.
In an alleged suicide Kalu penned before attempting suicide, the airman called his slain airwoman lover, “a witch” arguing that she deserved what she got.
“It’s a privilege for me writing this note because it would be read by most of men,” he allegedly wrote.
“It’s a love story of a guy falling in love with a wrong witch who pretended to be good in my eyes and in the eyes of my loving mother. I’m a simple guy who never partake in namevarious (nefarious) activities. Most individuals say I have a future here it is.
“I’m a guy who pull two rounds in a witch and one round to my fucking body. For it is said he who kill by the sword shall die by it.
“Most idiot would insult me, yes! If I were to be in there shoes I would do the same likewise if they were to be in my shoe, they would even pull more than three rounds on the witch.
“Call me crazy lover who died for heartbreak,” the said suicide note reads.
Before the apparent love between Kalu and Olasope turned sour, the couple were fond of “loving each other up” on social media.
Kalu, in one Facebook post, described the love they shared as being as deep as the one that existed between Romeo and Juliet – the main characters of a tragedy written by William Shakespeare whose deaths ultimately reconciled their warring families.
The odd thing is: Romeo didn’t kill Juliet who also didn’t cheat with another man.
I’m sure so many will learn …yes he is a crazy lover but it is better to love a slut than loving a lady you believed to be decent …. Wish the bullet could hit some ladies out there …. Nice one !!!!
So you think wasting his life over a cheating lady is worth it, too bad if you’re thinking along that line. Someone with a purposeful life won’t do that, A Lt for that matter. Nigeria Air force needs to start doing mental test for it’s recruits.
Comment* Thats Very Bad
So bad a situation, mental test should be carried out for our military men/women.
This is just too sad
