Niger citizen arrested with fake American dollar notes in Sokoto
One Yahya Isah, a Niger national, has been arrested by police officials in Sokoto for having in his possession counterfeit American dollar notes.
Isah was paraded at the state police headquarters on Wednesday.
Police Public Relations Officer Sokoto Command, DSP Cordelia Nwawe said the suspect with counterfeit dollars was arrested by a police team on patrol along Ilela garage area, Sokoto.
“They arrested and found the suspect in possession of 14 hundred notes of American dollars reasonably suspected to be counterfeit,” she disclosed.
Nwawe added that the suspect was also found in possession of a bunch of papers cut to the size of money.
“During investigation, the suspect confessed to have got the said counterfeit from one Gisa, ‘M’, also a Niger National now at large,” she stated.
