The two-day workshop is organised by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in partnership with the Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism (PTCIJ).

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung is a German foundation sponsored by the German government. It promotes democracy, rule of law and a socially and environmentally responsible market economy in more than 120 countries.

Resource persons at the capacity building workshop include Publisher of Premium Times, Dapo Olorunyomi, Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi of the Department of Mass Communication, Baze University, Abuja; Prof. Olawale Albert and Dr. Sola Olorunyomi of the University of Ibadan.

Others are Osai Ojigho, the Country Director of Amnesty International, and Gen. Sani Kukasheka Usman (Rtd), Former Director of Public Relations, Nigerian Army, among others.

Speaking ahead of the event, Orodare said, “I’m excited to be participating in the workshop because it is an opportunity to learn more and also share experiences from the great works we do at Neusroom.com where we tell untold stories to broaden knowledge of the younger generation, right the wrong perspectives and foster peace with the right information.

“At this critical time in the history of Nigeria, journalists must be equipped with the right skill set needed to effectively play their roles as peacebuilders to guide against reports that could set the nation on fire. This is an important and timely workshop for every Nigerian journalist.”
