NDLEA arrests 103 suspected drug traffickers, destroys 14 farmlands of weed plantation in Edo

About 103 suspects have been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Edo for drug trafficking offences within the state.
The Head of Operations and Intelligence of the state command, Peter Ogar, told NAN on Monday that15 females and 88 male suspects were arrested between July and September.
He said the suspects were caught with more than 4,000 Kilograms of suspected Indian hemp, while about 14 farmlands of about 10 hectares of planted weed were destroyed by the NDLEA operatives.
“It is peak period for traffickers because it is the harvest season,” Ogar said.
The commander further added that 79 persons have been united with their families after rehabilitation while two other persons were still under serious rehabilitation.
