Nasarawa deploys 2,000 policemen ahead of Buhari’s rally in Lafia
The government of Nasarawa state has disclosed that it is making adequate security provision ahead of President Buhari’s rally in the state capital, Lafia.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the event, the State Police Command say it has deployed 2,000 police officers to provide security.
President Buhari is expected to take his re-election campaign to Nasarawa on Wednesday where he will meet with his party members and also field for support from residents of the state.
The spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Samaila Usman said the personnel were gathered from the Mobile Force, Counter-terrorism and Intelligence units of the command. The selection also include personnel from the Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit as well.
He further informed that there will be diversion of traffic around Lafia for the entire duration of the rally.
