Naira Marley, Gbadamosi to tender apology to Buhari, Sanwo-Olu for attending JJC Skillz’s birthday party
The charges against singer, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, Babatunde Gbadamosi, a former Lagos governorship candidate in the 2019 election and his wife, have been withdrawn by the Lagos State government.
Naira Marley, Gbadamosi and his wife were scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday before the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ogba for attending a crowded birthday party organised by singer Abdulrasheed Bello aka JJC Skillz and his wife Funke Akindele.
The gathering was in violation of the government’s social distancing directive to curb the spread of coronavirus.
The Punch quoting one of the defence counsel, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), reports that the Lagos state government withdrew the four counts filed against the three defendants on the condition that the defendants would tender an apology to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Funke Akindele and JJC Skillz were sentenced to 14 days community service and fined N100,000 each after pleading guilty to the one count charge against them on Monday.
