Multichoice approves N550m COVID-19 PSA inventory on DStv and GOtv
As part of measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria, MultiChoice Nigeria said it is committing N550 million to Public Service Announcement and inventory to sensitise Nigerians on prevention tips against the deadly virus.
The leading entertainment and media company is taking the bold step at a time when a series of misinformation about the virus are dominating the internet and the airwaves. This move is expected to douse tension and properly enlighten the populace with the right information needed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and stay safe.
“We have committed N550million worth of inventory to public service announcements in our indigenous languages in addition to English and Pidgin to ensure that every Nigerian understands how to prevent Covid-19 or call for help through the NCDC helplines,” the CEO of MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, said.
The Executive Head, Corporate Affairs of MultiChoice Nigeria, Caroline Oghuma, said in a statement that the Covid-19 PSAs, which will be produced in English, Pidgin, Ibo, Yoruba and Hausa languages, will run on more than 10 channels across DStv and GOtv.
She added that the contribution is part of MultiChoice Nigeria’s support for the authorities who are at the frontline of fighting the pandemic and reducing its attendant impact on Nigeria’s economy.
