MOTORISTS BEWARE: It’s an offence to use hands free devices while driving
We heard officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have been fining Abuja motorists for using hands free devices while driving.
A particular case was brought to our attention.

We contacted FRSC about the matter. They’re yet to reply us. But we checked their website and found the Abuja officers are doing the right thing.
You can’t pick that call on hands free. Pull off the road if it’s so important. It’s all about keeping you and other road users safe.
Yes, it is an offence to use hands free devices while driving. The offence attracts a N4,000 fine.

By the way, we suggest the FRSC — instead of snubbing citizens’ questions — educate people on relevant traffic laws.
