Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh has identified cattle rearing economic advantage in Lagos
Land lease is a major challenge in Lagos but it’s still possible to get incredible land lease in remote parts of Lagos (especially in the Epe, Ikorodu, and Badagry areas), it’s still possible
In fact, there are still virgin forests in these remote settlements.
The minister stated yesterday that Lagos alone consumes 6000 cows daily, while the whole nation eats 40000 cows daily, which, he said, should encourage the people to venture into cattle rearing .
According to The National Livestock Project Division, the supply of cattle and its products has been declining, while the demand has been increasing.
The shortfall in the supply of cattle have been linked to the high cost of cattle marketing because the cattles are brought from the northern part of the country.
