Minister for Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh to construct 70 boreholes for N1.3 million each
July 17, 2017
The details of the deductions and increments made on the final 2017 budget as approved by members of the National Assembly have emerged.
A look into some of the recently released details of the budget shows that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development would be spending a sum of N94.5 million on hand pumped boreholes.
The ministry, headed by Audu Ogbeh, is expected to construct 70 hand pumped boreholes in selected rural communities.
That would put the sum of each construction at about N1.3 million.
Findings by Newsroom Nigeria, however, reveal that the construction of such borehole goes between N150,000 to N300,000.
That pales badly in comparison to the approved sum for the constructions.
