US Elections: Dino Melaye ‘threatens’ Elon Musk over harassment of Kamala Harris
A former Kogi State lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye, has threatened to dispose of his Tesla vehicle if Elon Musk doesn’t desist from “harassing’ Vice President and Democratic Party candidate for the November 5 United States elections, Kamala Harris.
Musk is the billionaire Chief Executive Officer of Tesla Motors, an American multinational automotive and clean energy company headquartered in Austin, Texas.
The successful businessman is a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, a candidate of the Republican Party in the election.
He has been very vocal with his pro-Trump narratives and quite critical of Harris.
Musk has also donated about $119 million in total support of the Republican presidential election campaign, underlining his strong support.
The X owner also created an America PAC, a super political action committee (PAC), which also enjoys the backing of a number of prominent tech businessmen supporting Trump.
By mid-October, Musk had transferred $43.6 million to America PAC, which targets registered voters in the hotly contested seven swing states such as Pennsylvania and Georgia.
The Tesla CEO made appearances at Trump rallies and donated $75 million between July and the end of September.

Melaye not pleased with Musk’s campaign against Harris
Meanwhile, the America PAC is pressing on with its controversial daily giveaway of $1 million to one registered voter at a time in a swing state.
Reports in the US media on Wednesday claimed that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has flagged the giveaway and warned Musk the campaign could violate electoral law.
The winners of the contest, who must be registered voters, are chosen at random. They are also required to sign a petition which supports “free speech and the right to bear arms.”
According to the US electoral law, it’s illegal to pay citizens money to vote or register to vote but Musk has argued that the million-dollar gift was intended to attract more attention to the petition and is therefore legal.
Meanwhile, it seems Melaye is ruffled by the X owner’s energetic commitment to the Trump campaign, which seems to continue to gather momentum as early voting begins.
Taking to his X account, Melaye threatened that he would encourage his friends to sell off their Tesla cars as retaliation.
“If Elon Musk will not stop harassing Kamala H. I will sell my Tesla and advise my friends to do the same. America should not lose her pride as the global democratic police,” the Nigerian politician tweeted.
