Man who chopped off friend’s head, hands gets death sentence in Anambra
A high court in Uyo has sentenced a 35-year-old murder suspect, Stephen Anona, to death by hanging for killing his friend.
Anona had, sometime in 2015, lured his victim, Daniel Bassey Solomon, to his apartment and served him some poisoned food which made him fall deeply asleep. He then proceeded to gruesomely murder Solomon by chopping off his head with a machete.
He was also said to have cut Solomon’s body into smaller parts for easy disposal. He packaged the body parts – head, legs, hands and the abdomen – inside bags and dumped them inside gutter.
Reports say the deceased, a barber, was killed by Anona for refusing to pay back a N750,000 debt.
