Man slumps after hearing Buhari returned alive

A middle-aged man reportedly fainted after learning President Muhammadu Buhari landed in Nigeria with life intact.

While Buhari was away in London for 49 days, rumours spread that he was either critically ill or dead. There were jubilations in parts of the country as Buhari returned on Friday. But not everyone was happy.

The President looked weak and lean. But he’s certainly not dead.

One Mallam Ibrahim reportedly fainted at the popular Mararraban Jos, a few kilometres to Kawo, Kaduna State when he heard the news of Buhari’s return.

Reports say the 58-year-old is a member of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), a Shiite Muslim sect the Nigerian government has banned for alleged “terrorist” activities.

IMN leader Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky has been in detention since 2015 and is reportedly going blind.

El-Zakzaky, the only surviving son of Sheikh Zakzaky, has petitioned the Attorney General and Minister of justice, Malami Abubakar SAN for failing in his duty to enforce the judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja that ordered the release of his parents.

Reports say Ibrahim may be nurturing the thought that Buhari’s death would bring easier times for IMN members.
