Man says Nigeria is bad because “our leaders support Arsenal FC”
A Nigerian has gone on Facebook to draw a hilarious correlation between the struggles of English club Arsenal FC and that of Nigeria.
“Arsenal FC always reminds me of Nigeria,” Ahmed Musa Husaini wrote after the Gunners stumbled 1-3 to Chelsea FC on Saturday.
“The two are exceedingly similar: reliable mediocre, consistent underachievers, and fond of celebrating easy victories.
“It is not surprising that 2016 Twitter data shows Nigerians support Arsenal more than any other sports team.
NOTE: IDAfrica COO Femi Falodun told NewsroomNG, on Monday, he’s not seen such data. “But most people assume this is true,” he said.
“Above all, there’s huge Arsenal followership among Nigerian elites; Dangote, Saraki, Atiku, Emir Sanusi etc. I think there’s strong correlation here between Nigeria’s struggles and those of Arsenal.
“PS: Dear Arsenal fans, I’m only looking for a correlation, not your trouble. Please!”
