Man divorces wife after she kidnapped thier son to buy new car
A woman identified only as Baraka has been arrested by the Department of State Security Service, DSS, Yobe State Command, for allegedly kidnapping her own son.
She was said to have connived with one Rukayya and another accomplice who pretended to be the kidnapper, demanding N5 million from her husband.
The mother of two allegedly made the move because her husband refused to buy her a new car.
The husband, Yusuf, notified the DSS after receiving several calls and text messages from the fake abductor negotiating the ransom to free his son.
State police spokesperson Bitrus Noam confirmed the incident saying the case was with DSS. He added that the suspect confessed to orchestrating the kidnapping of her son.
Apparently disappointed at the development, Yusuf immediately divorced his wife. The 10-year-old son has since returned home.
