Man, 42, rapes 16-year-old virgin maid in Ogun while wife was away

A 42-year-old man, Abiodun Amosu is facing charges of rape for allegedly defiling his housemaid at their Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta residence.

Amosu, a website designer, allegedly committed the crime last Thursday while his wife was away in Lagos.

Police in the state say the victim had reported how Amosu dragged her into his room and raped her. The victim, a Benue State native, also claimed she was beaten and thrown out of the house for speaking out against the act after he had his way.

Police spokesperson in Ogun, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said help came to the victim through a member of the state chapter of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights who saw her weeping uncontrollably outside Amosu’s apartment.

“His arrest followed the complaint lodged at the Ibara Police Division by the victim, who was accompanied to the station by a member of the CDHR,” Oyeyemi said.

“She reported that the suspect forcefully dragged her into his bedroom, had carnal knowledge of her, beat her up after she protested against the act and sent her out of the house.”

Oyeyemi said the suspect initially denied the allegation, but admitted to the offence when confronted with the bloodstained bedclothes in his bedroom.

According to the police, a medical report from state General Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta, has confirmed that the teenage girl was sexually abused.

Amosu will be charged to court after investigations, the police spokesperson confirmed.
