Liverpool beat Brentford to maintain an impressive start to life under Arne Slot

Liverpool continued their impressive start to the new English Premier League (EPL) with an assured win over Brentford.

The Reds came away from the encounter with a 2-0 win at Anfield, on Sunday.

Goals in either half from Luis Diaz and Mo Salah sealed the deal.

It did not take long in the clash for the Reds to stamp their authority and in-form Luiz Diaz was on hand to gift them the lead in the 13th minute.

Brentford pushed for an equalizer before the close of the first 45 but found the rear guard of Liverpool resolute.

The second half saw Arne Slot’s side stamp their authority in the game fully, with Brentford living off scraps.

Jota will rue his luck when he missed a sitter that would have put Liverpool in cruise control in the 60th minute.

There were no such issues 10 minutes later when Diaz set Mo Salah up for the game and Liverpool’s second.

It was game set and buried long before the full-time whistle as Liverpool continued their great start to the new campaign.

They face Manchester United at Old Trafford next week. The Reds will hope to claim all 3 points again in their bid to topple reigning Champions, Man City, to claim the EPL title this time around.
