Lassa Fever: Sacking Ruqqayat is justified, Nasarawa governor reportedly reacts
Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has reportedly reacted to the sacking of a woman who criticized his government’s response to the outbreak of Lassa Fever in the state.
Al-Makura, who reportedly spoke through his Senior Assistant on Media, Musa Ishaq, said it would be hypocritical and evil for anyone to have said what the Barrister aired about the government.
The governor said, contrary to Ruqqayat’s comment on Facebook, there was and still is constant awareness every minute and hour on both the NBS TV and Radio stations about Lassa Fever disease.
Ruqqayat’s post on Facebook had suggested that there was no continuous awareness on Lassa Fever since its outbreak.
“You must verify your information before spreading what you know nothing about hence misleading the public”, he advised.
Mal Ishaq further stated that, Barr Ruqqayat was wrong actually and her sacking justify. “This is the reason why a Senator was proposing a bill about SM and we all called him names”, he added..
