Lagos: Woman killed in ghastly crash on way to America

An unnamed woman who was making preparations to travel to the United States was killed in a crash involving a black Camry car and a trailer fully loaded with granite early Thursday (today) morning.

The woman was billed to travel to the United States today, LASEMA official, Kehinde Adebayo revealed.

The accident occurred at about 2am at Stadium Bus Stop inward Alaka Surulere, LASEMA confirmed.

The driver of the Camry was said to have driven recklessly, crashing his car into the truck which was moving inward Stadium Bus stop.

He survived the crash, but sustained some injuries, and had been taken to the trauma centre.

The agency’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) extricated the trapped victim from the wreckage and handed him over to the Nigerian Police from Surulere Division.

Irate youths reportedly attacked the agency’s officials as they carried out rescue operations, an act the General Manager of LASEMA, Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu labelled as disappointing.

Tiamiyu advised motorist to drive within the approved speed limit and also observe road traffic signs, adding that the Nigeria Police will carry out further investigation into the incident.
