Lagos police kill suspected Aiye cult leader in shootout
An alleged notorious cult leader was gunned down by the police at Ishashi, Ojo area of Lagos Tuesday night.
The deceased, identified as 31-year-old Olamide Oloruntobi allegedly belonged to the Aiye cult group in that area.
Reports say Olamide was killed in a gun battle with the police at about 8:50pm, at Durosooto Street, Celenizer, New Mebamu, Ishashi, after police gathered that he led his gang in terrorising residents of the street.
A locally made pistol with one live ammunition was found in Olamide’s possession after he was killed during the shootout. His body was reportedly deposited at Badagry General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
