Lagos Signs MoU for Lekki-Epe Link Bridge, Solar Energy in Universities
Lagos State government, in a move to address infrastructure challenges and promote sustainable energy, has signed two critical agreements.
Governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced that the state has partnered with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) for the construction of the Lekki-Epe Link Bridge. “Our transport master plan is about real improvements that will make a difference in the daily lives of Lagosians,” Sanwo-Olu said in a statement shared on his official X account.

Additionally, the state has signed an agreement to install solar power systems across its major tertiary institutions, including Lagos State University. The initiative, expected to generate 50 megawatts of electricity, aims to provide a reliable and clean energy source, reducing the schools’ dependency on conventional power.
“This solar project is a step toward making Lagos a more sustainable city,” the governor noted.
The signings, witnessed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, signal Lagos’ commitment to long-term infrastructure and energy solutions.
