Lagos: Man killed after container falls along Ikorodu road
A man has been killed in a motor accident along Ikorodu road, Thursday morning.
The crash occurred at Onipanu bus stop inward Palmgroove at about 5:30 a.m.
The trailer driver lost control and tumbled blocking the entire expressway while a Toyota Camry rammed into the truck from behind killing the man suspected to be a “motor boy”, a Lagos State Emergency Management Agency officer said.
“His trapped dead body was extricated by the LASEMA Response Team and has been taken by officials of the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) to the Mainland Hospital Mortuary.
“Also, the Agency’s heavy duty truck was used to evacuate the accidented vehicles off the road to allow free flow of vehicular movement.
The General Manager LASEMA Mr. Michael Akindele said proper investigation would be conducted on the incident. He however advised motorists to adhere to all traffic rules and regulations to avoid incident such as this.
