Lagos Magistrate court arraigns man for impregnating his daughter
A man identified as Kenneth Abuya, 27, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate Court for allegedly impregnating his 10-year-old daughter, Miracle Michael.
Police prosecutor Officer Simon, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at Idimu road, in the Egbeda area of Lagos state. He said the offence contravened and punishable under section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the lone count charge of sexual assault preferred against him.
Presiding magistrate, B.O. Osunsanmi granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties. She said the sureties must be property owners. She added that they must also have evidence of tax payment and verified addresses.
The case was adjourned until February, 1, 2018.
