Lagos: Ikeja Electric announces one-month power outage, 25 communities affected

The following areas, all in Lagos, will spend one month without electricity supply:

Ojodu, Magodo, Alausa, Oke-Afa, Bolorunpelu, Egbe, Igando, Shasha, Ipaja, Alimosho, Agege, Egbeda, Abesan, Ayetoro, Abule-Taylor, Ogba, Ifako, Somolu, Gbagada, Oworonshoki, Ogudu, Isheri-Olowora, Berger, Anthony and Otta.

That’s according to the management of Ikeja Electric (IE) which supplies electricity to the communities.

Residents, those who can afford it, will go through this for one month.

IE will cut power to these areas to enable maintenance work.

“The maintenance will enhance improved service delivery,” spokesperson Felix Ofulue said on Friday.

“We are appealing to consumers to bear with the company during the maintenance work.

The reign of darkness would commence on March 6 and last till April 4.

Ofulue said the outage was to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to carry out routine work on the Ikeja West Transmission Station.
