Lagos to commence A-Meal-A-Day programme in 2016
The Lagos State Government will begin the A-Meal-A-Day programmes in Public Primary Schools from next year.
Lagos governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, revealed this while he presented the 2016 budget to the state Assembly.
He said the programme would be funded by both the state and Federal Government on a 40:60 ration.
“This programme promises not only to improve the daily nutrition of our children, it will also create an economy of its own, with opportunities for job creation, income generation, poverty alleviation, and so on,” Ambode said.
Ambode also said the state would develop an e-Curriculum which would lead to the distribution of Ibile Tablets to students in the state’s public schools.
This, according to him, will set a new standard in our educational system, and further enchance the knowledge of children in the state.
