Kyari breaks silence on his COVID-19 status, explains why he is in Lagos
After days of speculation about his COVID-19 status, Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari has finally confirmed that he tested positive for the deadly virus and revealed how he has been fighting the deadly virus.
Kyari was reported to have tested positive for the virus last Monday. Although the Presidency later confirmed the report, it later sparked speculations on the internet as many expressed concern that President Muhammadu Buhari may have been infected by his closest aide. The President’s media aides later issued a statement saying the President, his Vice, Prof Yemi Osinbajo took the COVID-19 test and their result came out negative.
In a statement he personally signed on Sunday, Kyari said he has made his personal care arrangements to avoid burdening the public health system which faces so many pressure.
“On medical advice, I will transfer to Lagos later today (Sunday) for additional tests and observation,” the statement read.
“I have not experienced high fever or other symptoms associated with this new virus and have been working from home.”
Kyari who reportedly arrived Lagos on Monday added that his decision to move to Lagos, with the highest number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, was also a precautionary measure.
