Kaduna man who gave kids free ice cream gets huge cash gift 30 years later
When Facebook user Zaradn Espee was growing up, ice cream seller Musa Halidu used to give him, and some other kids, free ice cream.
30 years have passed since then. Musa has not left his ice cream business. Espee, who seems to have done well for himself, crossed paths with the man again and decided to help him “retire”.
“I wanted us to donate and make a difference in his life as a give back for all the free ice cream he gave us under the scorching sun”, Espee wrote in a Facebook post urging his followers to donate whatever they could afford to Musa.
And they did.
On September 11, Espee wrote that they “presented him (Musa) with a total contribution of N110,000, out of which N40,000 was given to him in cash and the balance of N70,000 to be deposited in an account he will open after Sallah”.
He titled the post “We made a man cry”, suggesting Musa broke down in tears after receiving the cash gift.
The group of donors called the man to bring some ice cream. When Musa came near the group and was told why they called him, he became overwhelmed with emotions.
