JUSTICE! Man, 35, jailed 3 years for sexually assaulting 11-year-old girl
Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has secured the conviction of a 35 year-old-man, Praise Akinloye for having unlawful sexual intercourse with an 11-year-old girl.
It was gathered that Akinloye committed the offence at FUTA South Gate area of Akure Magisterial District between February 26, 2018 and March 13, 2018.
The convict was arraigned on one count of having unlawful sexual intercourse with an underage girl.
The NSCDC Prosecutor, Mr. David Ebriku, tendered the convict and the victim’s statements as evidence.
Counsel to the convict, Mr. Ifeoluwa Omotosho, pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.
In her judgement, the Magistrate, Mrs. Comfort Adeyanju, said she had gone through the exhibits and held that the convict truly had unlawful sexual intercourse with the minor.
Akinloye was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment with an option of N250,000 fine.
