Jubilant FUNAAB students, workers fry akara over suspension of “corrupt” VC
Students of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) have reportedly thrown a big party to celebrate the suspension of allegedly corrupt Vice Chancellor Prof. Olusola Oyewole.
FG hammered Oyewole over series of petitions bothering on alleged maladministration and financial malpractices. The embattled VC faces imprisonment if found guilty.
Students, joined by members of staff, on Tuesday fried akara to mark the downfall of a “corrupt” VC.

In Yoruba culture, people fry akara to mourn the death of a loved one.
“This is the end to tyranny in FUNAAB,” chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU FUNAAB), Rotimi Fasuwon, was quoted to have said.
“Honestly, we have every course to have this party.
“We experienced a period of authoritarian leadership that has never been in the over 20 years of existence of this university,” he reportedly said.
