Isiaka Adeleke: Protest as “incompetent doctor kills” Davido’s uncle

Late Senator Isiaka Adeleke was laid to rest on Monday. The 62-year-old was first civilian governor of Osun State.

Adeleke, who was singer Davido’s uncle, died after reportedly suffering heart attack on Sunday.

Ogun governor Ibikunle Amosun shields woman from protesters.

His supporters alleged that he was poisoned. They reportedly accused APC top shots of murdering the senator to stop him from contesting next year’s governorship election in Osun state.

As Adeleke was laid to rest on Monday, protesters reportedly attacked political figures who graced the occasion.

Senator Adeleke (in colourful clothing) was last seen alive at a political rally.

Ogun state governor Ibikunle Amosun had to shield Idiat Babalola, the Senior Special Adviser to Osun Governor Rauf Aregbesola on Diaspora, from protesters who reportedly wanted to beat her up.

Adeleke’s fans said Babalola had been named running mate to APC’s preferred candidate in next year’s election.

Amosun was pictured pushing a protester away as other politicians and security officers shielded and hurried Babalola to safety. Babalola was at the burial to stand in for Aregbesola who was unable to make it there.

Adeleke would have, according to Islamic rites, been buried on Sunday but the ceremony was delayed after Davido’s father, Adedeji Adeleke, reportedly demanded an autopsy.

Reports, on Monday, say Adeleke was killed by an overdose of painkiller drugs administered to him by a “rubbish” doctor.

“The Senator was complaining of serious pain in his legs at the beginning of political rally and meetings on Saturday.

“An unqualified medical technician then administered the painkillers intravenously, relieving him of the pain.

“When he woke up on Sunday he complained of chest pain and fatigue and subsequenty had a heart attack.

“The intravenous medication, fluid laced with a huge quantity of painkillers conspired to block his heart leading to a heart attack that killed him.”

The report is fueling the suspicions of Adeleke’s supporters that their darling senator was murdered because of Osun 2018.
