Injured Ronaldo cheers Portugal to victory over unlucky France
July 11, 2016
Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo watched from the sidelines as Portugal silenced Euro 2016 hosts France in Paris on Sunday night.
The Real Madrid forward was stretchered off in the 25th minute eight minutes after injuring his knee in a clash with France’s Dimitri Payet.
Ronaldo was in tears.

But he soon emerged from the dressing room, and with a limp “took over” from his coach to lead Portugal to victory from the touchline.
He even floated in the air while at it.
The game was deadlocked at normal regulation time of 90 minutes. France could have scored a couple but Rui Patricio made some decent saves.
Ronaldo would forever be grateful to teammate Eder became a national hero after firing 108 a low 25-yard drive past keeper Hugo Lloris in the 108th.

Host France should try next time.
Congratulations to Portugal, the champions of Europe.
It’s Portugal’s first European Championship after 35 games at the tournament.
No wonder Ronaldo…
