INEC says the presence of Niger Republic govs at Buhari’s rally in Kano legal

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has revealed that the presence of two governors from Niger Republic at the APC rally in Kano did not violate any laws.

This is coming after opposition parties and other Nigerians raised concerns about the involvement of foreign nationals in the electoral process of Nigeria.

Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus had called for immediate disqualification of President Buhari for bringing aliens into the country to meddle with the election.

While INEC pointed out that foreign citizens are not allowed to run for office or vote in Nigeria, they also said that it is not out of place for them to attend campaign rallies.
