On Monday, May 29, 2023, as Bola Tinubu was being sworn in as Nigeria’s 16th president in Abuja, 28 Governors across the country also took oath of office, some for their second term in office, and others as new governors.
In Lagos, Nigeria’s economic hub, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, after an election many claimed was marred by voter intimidation, was sworn in for his second term in office. Alex Otti, after a dramatic poll, was equally sworn in as Governor of Abia State, becoming the only Governor in the country under the platform of the Labour Party.
