Imo police arrest 5 alleged murderers of two siblings
Five suspected kidnappers have been arrested by the the police in Imo for allegedly killing two siblings in the state.
Dasuki Galadanchi, the state Commissioner of Police who paraded the suspects, said they were responsible for the kidnap and murder of Oluchi Nnodumele and Chibuzo Nnodumele.
He identified the suspects as: Sylvester China, 20; Wosa Okechukwu, 23; Idris Ishola, 27; Gift Igwe 27; and Solomon Godwin, 28.
“Between August 7 and 29, operatives of the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested these suspects at Alawama Estate in Rivers State. They were rounded up over their involvement in the kidnap and murder of two victims,” Galandachi said.
“The victims were on their way from Owerri to Port Harcourt and on getting to Umuagwo in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area, the hoodlums attacked them, shot and killed one Oluchi Nnodumele, 23; while others sustained a varying degree of gunshot injuries.”
Galadanchi also added that some of the victims’ phones have been recovered. He also said the suspects will be charged to court once investigation is concluded.
“The suspects were arrested with the aid of tracking and digital analysis. The suspects have made useful statements and have confessed to being members of the notorious Junior Ashland secret cult,” he said.
