Imam wounded as masqueraders challenge fasting Muslims in Ekiti
Some masqueraders reportedly attacked some Muslims in a community in Ekiti State while they broke their fast on Tuesday evening.
The attack, according to reports, occurred around 7pm when the Muslim faithfuls converged to observe the Maghrib prayer at the central mosque.
The masqueraders reportedly queried why the Muslims dared to call for prayer when their Egun festival was still in full swing.
A clash was said to have broke out, with unconfirmed number of persons, including the Imam, getting injured in the attack.
The incident happened at Ikun Ekiti, a town under Moba Local Government in the state.
