So the Nigerian government has extended the Eid al-Fitr holiday by a day making the greater part of this week work-free for most salary earners.
Despite not sighting the crescent moon, the government earlier declared Tuesday and Wednesday public holidays. Thursday was added to the equation as the moon “refuse to come out of hiding.”
Nigerians are not only finding the development appalling; they’re also finding it funny.
