This guy can’t talk after surviving horrible crash

The car is a wreck but no life were lost.

“Thank your stars,” witnesses who gathered at the scene after the crash told one of the survivors.

He was sitting at the front of the car with his driving colleague when the vehicle jumped off the lane and crashed on the opposing one.

It could even have rammed into a crowd of commuters waiting in line for their turn to board a BRT bus at Palmgroove bus stop in Lagos. Fortunately, it was able to come to a miraculous halt as soon at it landed on the opposing lane…a wreck.

“It was like a movie,” an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) told NewsroomNG at the scene.

“The vehicle was going too fast and it was just ahead of a speeding trailer. The trailer hit the car from behind and that was it. I screamed as I saw the vehicle jump off the road and land on the other side.

“I was about bursting into tears until I saw the driver and another occupant emerge from the car, all by themselves, alive and apparently unhurt,” the LASTMA official said.

The man driving the vehicle said he couldn’t say anything.

“I’m trying to put myself together,” he managed to say as he accessed the damage done to the front of the car.

“I can’t talk now…I just can’t talk,” he said.

But the other man accompanying him could not even utter a word. He sat by the roadside, head bowed and clasped in hands, starring into the ground, almost oblivious of the crowd that gathered around him.

“They could have died or sustained serious chest and head injuries if not for the airbags,” an eyewitness told us.

NewsroomNG gathered the car belonged to someone else, most likely their boss or “big uncle”. The owner later came to the scene to “take care of things.”

With LASTMA officials, he called a towing vehicle to remove his damaged car.

The accident happened around 7:45 p.m. on Monday…along the ever busy Ikorodu highway in Lagos State.
