Graphic Content Warning: Fully loaded container crushes woman’s legs in Lagos

An unfortunate accident claimed the legs, and subsequently the life, of an unidentified woman on Saturday, November 19 at the Durban Junction, Amuwo-Odofin, Mile 2, Lagos.

The incident, as narrated by a Facebook user, happened when a trailer carrying a fully-loaded 40-ft container lost balance and fell on the legs of the woman, smashing them to pieces.

For several minutes, onlookers and sympathisers became confused about how to get the wailing victim out of the situation.

According to the witness, it only took the courage of one of the bystanders to severe what was left of the woman’s legs with a machete before she could be released from the trap.

Sadly, the efforts proved a little too late as the victim died on the way to the hospital due to excessive loss of blood.

The witness, identified as Ochiman Stephen, blamed the incident on construction company, Julius Berger’s poor execution in constructing a new road in the area.

I blame Julius Berger because this happened because of useless road the newly constructed there which is very bad and many other trailer has fell at the same spot,” he shared.

Efforts to get LASEMA official, Kehinde Adebayo, to comment on the incident is futile, as he is yet to respond to a text message sent to his phone at the time of writing this story.
