Girl, 14, arrested for stabbing father to death in Delta
A girl with an undisclosed identity in the Cable Point area of Asaba, Delta state has been arrested by the police for stabbing a man believed to be his father to death.
The incident which took place when the man was fast asleep is said to have been prompted by an earlier punishment he gave to the girl for an offence she committed on Thursday.
She waited with a knife for him to fall asleep before she carried out the tragic ‘revenge’ on him.
There has been no confirmation of any mental health related issues with the girl or if she has exhibited violent behaviour before.
Andrew Aniamaka, the state Police Public Relations Officer who spoke on the issue lamented over the rise of criminalities in the state.
“Imagine a small girl stabbing her relative to death. The other day, it was killing of a Delta State University student. Where are we heading to?’’ He demanded.
The police has not yet revealed if the minor will be prosecuted for the crimes.
