I was gang-raped, shot, and dumped in a well – 13-year-old girl
Miraculously, she survived.
The girl, reportedly aged 13, was held captive for two weeks after being abducted, November 22, on her way to a market in western Delhi.
She told of her ordeal in an interview with the NDTV news which was aired Sunday.
According to her, she was held in a “dark room” where three attackers took turns to rape her over a two-week period.
Here’s her account, in part:
“After a fortnight of repeated abuse, one night they said they will let me go. They put me in the car and drove to a store to buy alcohol and then parked the car near a well.
“They told me they will let me go but as I took a few steps back, they fired two shots. The first bullet hit my bone. I didn’t feel a thing, my body just went numb. But after the second one I fainted.”
“When I regained consciousness, I could see a bullet in my chest, so I just yanked it out.
Thereafter, she screamed for help and nearby villagers pulled her out and took her to hospital.
Police say all three accused men have been arrested and charged for rape of minor, abduction, and attempt to murder, but the arrest will not sooth the offended teenager whose mother had to borrow about $750 rupees for her treatment.
“I want the rapists to be hanged. No one should go through what I did,” she said,”I’ll continue to fight for justice”..
