Former Ghana FA boss, Ben Koufie, dies at 84

A former president of the Ghana Football Association, Ben Koufie is dead.
Koufie passed on after battling an undisclosed ailment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Monday evening.
He was 84.
Koufie worked as the Ghana Football Association President from 2001 to 2003 before being succeeded by current FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi after Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2004 Cup of Nations in Tunisia.

He managed Ghanaian Clubs Great Olympics and Asante Kotoko, guiding the latter to the Africa Club Championship in 1971 and also helping the former (Great Olympics) to the semi-finals a year later.
The former Black Stars assistant Coach also worked as the Technical Advisor to the Zimbabwe Football Association from 1981 to 1982 as well as a Technical Director for the Botswana Football Association..
