Former Deputy Chief Registrar of Oyo court to serve 7-year jail term for N9m fraud

The Court of Appeal has upheld the judgment of the lower court.

A former Deputy Chief Registrar of the Oyo State High Court, Mutiat Omobola Adio, will spend seven years in prison for fraud.

Adio had been found guilty of collecting a N9.2 million sum which was meant for the acquisition of a property located at Plot 10, Block XXIV, Bashorun Estate, Ibadan, from her victim without providing the necessary documents.

All efforts by the victim to recover the sum from her or take over ownership of the property yielded no positive results.

Adio was, on May 18, 2018, convicted for fraud by the court and sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

She proceeded to appeal the ruling at the Court of Appeal, Ibadan, but the court has upheld the judgment of the lower court.
