Emmanuel Egbo – In Memory Of Those Killed Illegally By The Nigerian Police

Emmanuel Egbo, a 15-year-old boy, was in front of his uncle’s house in Enugu playing with other children when he was shot dead by a police officer, in September 2008.
His offence? The Police claimed the teenager was an armed robber. The case was not investigated, Emmanuel’s family said the Police simply told them “the boy was an armed robber and the case had been closed.”
His remains were also not released to the family and in August 2009, the family said they discovered that Emmanuel’s body had disappeared from the mortuary; as of November 2009, the body is still missing.
