Emergency services officer seen taking selfies at Otedola Bridge inferno site
An unidentified emergency services officer was seen this evening taking photographs of himself with burnt vehicles in the background of the inferno that consumed at least thirty vehicles and numerous persons in Lagos this evening.
The fire had broken out after a tanker carrying petrol lost control of its brakes and ran into other cars, causing a spontaneous explosion.
The said officer was among the first responders on site and could not resist taking a selfie at his duty post.
Since the advent of social media networks that allow for seamless distribution of information among citizens, images like this have become commonplace; with people taking photos despite the insensitive nature of their actions.
