EFCC Declares Businesswoman Aisha Achimugu Wanted Amid Lavish Birthday Controversy
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Aisha Achimugu, the Managing Director and CEO of Felak Concept Group, wanted.
In an official statement released on Friday, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale urged the public to assist in locating the 51-year-old entrepreneur. Achimugu, an indigene of Ofu Local Government Area in Kogi State, was last known to reside at 6C, Rudolf Close, Maitama, Abuja.
The commission has called on anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to report to any of its offices across the country, including Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja.
Achimugu, a well-known figure in elite social circles, made headlines in January 2024 when she hosted an extravagant seven-day 50th birthday celebration in the Caribbean island of Grenada. The star-studded event attracted some of Nigeria’s top celebrities, industry heavyweights, and even a sitting state governor.
However, her lavish festivities also caught the attention of Nigerian tax authorities. Shortly after the celebration, the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) publicly reminded her of her tax obligations.
In a statement on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the tax agency wrote:
“The FCT-Internal Revenue Service extends our warmest birthday wishes to you! May this special day be filled with joy and blessings. Remember to fulfil your tax obligations by filing your annual tax returns.”
