The case against former Taraba State governor, Rev. Jolly Nyame has been closed by the EFCC after calling a total of 14 persons as witnesses during the trial, which started since 2010.
Nyame is standing trial before an FCT High Court on 41-counts of criminal misappropriation of N1.6bn state funds while he was governor of Taraba.
Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), who is the counsel for the anti-graft agency, told the court on Tuesday that the prosecution had decided to close the case against the former governor.
NAN reports that in response to the closure, the lead defense counsel, Mr. Omosanya Popoola, said that he would file a “No case submission.”
Popoola said, “In view of the closure of the prosecution case, we shall be making a no case submission pursuant to Section 303 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act.”
