Edo Election: “Peter Obi Is a Serial Complainer” – APC

We Came With Nothing, We Leave With Nothing: Obi Prays for Blackmailers

Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, a “serial complainer” following his criticism of the recent Edo State governorship election.

Obi had described the election, in which APC’s Monday Okpebholo was declared the winner, as a “blatant example of state capture.”

However, Morka, in an interview with Arise TV on Wednesday, dismissed Obi’s remarks, stating that the former Anambra State governor consistently refuses to accept the results of elections that don’t favor him or his allies.

“Peter Obi is a serial complainer who will not accept the result of any election that is not in his favor or the candidates he supports,” Morka said. “Since the 2023 election, Obi has been in consistent denial of that outcome. Now, he has a new pet project — denying the Edo State election.”

According to Morka, Obi’s views on the Edo election are insignificant.

“Whatever he thinks of the Edo election is completely irrelevant,” he added.

Morka further argued that candidates such as Kenneth Imansuangbon (Akpata) and Asue Ighodalo, who were involved in the election, should follow due process if they are dissatisfied with the results.

“I think Akpata and Ighodalo have a legitimate interest in that election, and if they are not satisfied, they should do what they must — head to court and prove the allegations they are now spreading.”

He criticised the lack of concrete evidence behind Obi’s claims and urged those challenging the election to focus on presenting realistic evidence in court.

“It’s not about headlines; you must break it down to solid evidence to support your claims of winning elections,” Morka said.

Obi had condemned the Edo election process, held on Saturday, September 21, accusing it of undermining Nigeria’s democratic values.
