DSS Frees 6 #EndBadGovernance Protesters in Kaduna
The Department of State Services (DSS) has freed six protesters arrested during the recent #EndBadGovernance protests in Kaduna State.
This was confirmed, on Sunday, by a source close to the secret police.
Their release comes after the DSS wrapped up its investigations, the sources say.
The sources further reveal that 3 protesters will, however, be arraigned.
“On September 19, 2024, the service released six persons held in Kaduna who had regained freedom having been cleared at the end of investigations. Meanwhile, three are being prosecuted for established prima facie cases.
“The DG DSS directed the immediate release of the protesters who were arrested for their various roles in the #EndBadGovernance protests.

“The DG is resolute on upholding the mandate of the Service of decisively investigating and bringing to justice those who exploit such rights to perpetrate crime,” sources close to the DSS revealed.
Earlier, human rights advocate, Femi Falana SAN, held that security agents in Nigeria arrested no fewer than 2,111 protesters during the protests.
The protests against economic hardship and bad governance ran from August 1st to 10th of this year.
