DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Man beats wife to death, dumps body in Lagos lagoon
A man has allegedly beaten his wife to death and dumped her remains inside the Lagos lagoon at Oke Eri street, Oworonshoki area of the state.
The lifeless body of the unnamed woman was said to have been discovered beneath a structure she cohabited with her husband.
The couple reportedly engaged in constant quarrels and one of their many fights led to the husband’s arrest by officers of a police station in Oworonshoki almost two weeks ago.
The suspect was said to have secured his release a day after his arrest and engaged his wife in another fight as he returned home. That would be their last fight as the wife reportedly died from the beating she received.
Her body was then dumped in the lagoon by the suspect who reportedly claimed not to know her whereabouts when he was pressed by neighbours.
A neighbour saw the body as it floated last Friday and duly notified the police who then arrested the husband.
